Poonch: 25 Aug 2026 :- The Indian Army organised a cyber-crime awareness lecture at Higher Secondary School, Chhatral, to educate students about the safe and responsible use of the internet and social media platforms.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from 100 students and five members of the teaching staff. During the lecture, students were sensitised about the growing threats in the digital space and the importance of remaining vigilant while using online platforms. Key topics including hacking, cyber frauds, online scams, misuse of social media and the spread of fake information were discussed.
The students were informed about various methods adopted by cyber criminals, such as fake messages, malicious links and fraudulent online offers to deceive users. They were also educated on the importance of safeguarding passwords and personal information and following basic preventive measures to protect themselves from cyber threats.
The interactive session encouraged students to raise queries and understand cyber safety practices in a better manner. The school authorities appreciated the Indian Army’s initiative in creating awareness among the youth and contributing towards building a safer and more informed digital community.
