PDP District President Bandipora Syed Sajad Criticises Government, Sonawari MLA Over Health Sector Issues.

BANDIPORA 11 SEPTEMBER 2026

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bandipora District President Syed Sajad on Friday held a press conference and launched a sharp criticism of the present government, particularly Sonawari MLA Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone, over what he described as the poor state of the health sector in the Sonawari constituency.Speaking to the media, Syed Sajjad claimed that the PDP had played a key role in raising issues concerning the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Madwan.

He said that the party had intervened on the issue, including through a protest held around two months ago, and former MLC Sonawari Yasir Reshi had also raised grievances regarding the lack of adequate staff at the health centre. He said that staff has now been posted at PHC Madwan, but questioned why the health facility remained incomplete for nearly two decades.

Syed Sajjad questioned the seriousness of both the present and previous governments in addressing the long-pending issue.Expressing concern over the overall health infrastructure in Sonawari, the PDP leader said that the sector continues to face several challenges, particularly the shortage and non-availability of doctors.

He further alleged that in some cases, doctors officially posted at one health centre are performing duties at other health centres, creating difficulties for patients and affecting the functioning of healthcare facilities. He urged the government to look into the matter and take corrective measures to ensure adequate medical staff at health centres across Sonawari.Senior PDP leader Nazir Ahmad Reshi and other party leaders were also present during the press conference.
