BANDIPORA 26 SEPTEMBER 2026
Bandipora:- Young PDP leader and former Chairman of Municipal Committee Sumbal, Jahangeer Dar, while reacting to the PDP’s decision to suspend District President Haji Syed Sajjad Hussain, said that Syed Sajjad is a senior and respected leader who has stood by the party during difficult times and continues to remain an important pillar of the PDP in Bandipora.
Jahangeer Dar said he respects the party’s decision, but emphasized that Syed Sajjad Hussain’s long-standing contribution towards strengthening and consolidating the party across the district should not be overlooked.
He said that statements made in the course of political or public discourse can sometimes lead to controversy, adding that a “slip of the tongue” can happen with anyone. Such instances, he said, should be viewed with understanding and should not be allowed to overshadow a leader’s overall contribution and years of service.
Dar also highlighted Syed Sajjad Hussain’s background as a teacher and his association with the teachers’ forum. He said that Syed Sajjad has consistently remained connected with the teaching community and has raised issues concerning teachers’ welfare, professional interests and legitimate demands.
According to Jahangeer Dar, Syed Sajjad Hussain has continuously advocated for teachers’ concerns and remained engaged with the community, which, he said, continues to acknowledge and value his efforts and contribution.
Dar said the role played by senior leaders in strengthening the party at the grassroots level deserves due recognition and that their overall contribution should be considered while assessing any particular statement or episode.
