Urges Political Leaders to Unite, Avoid Politicisation.
Bandipora, Oct 1: Renowned social activist Qawam-ud-Din Shilvati has urged Sonawari MLA Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone to seek an amendment to SRO-105 instead of calling for further committees over the long-pending Saderkoot Bala stone quarry issue.Shilvati said repeated committees and fresh demands for inquiries would only delay a solution, while a concrete legal and policy intervention is required to address the concerns of affected people.
He urged the MLA to take up the matter in the Legislative Assembly and bring a resolution in the forthcoming session seeking an appropriate amendment to SRO-105.He said the issue has remained unresolved for a long time and called for a practical solution within the legal framework.
Shilvati also appealed to political leaders to avoid politicising the matter and work collectively for its resolution. He urged MLA Hilal Akbar Lone to take the initiative in the Assembly and pursue the proposed amendment with the concerned authorities.
