Case FIR Registered
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 08, 2026: During naka checking at Pashwari, Sumbal, a police party of Police Station Sumbal apprehended two persons and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband from their possession.
During the search, charas-like substance (charas choora) was recovered from both individuals, concealed in nylon bags. The apprehended persons were identified as Mohd Shafi Ganie, son of Mohd Sultan Ganie, resident of Pashwari, Naidkhai, and Shabir Ahmad Malk, son-in-law of Gh. Mohd Hura, resident of Pashwari, Naidkhai.
On weighing, 5.324 Kgs of charas-like substance was recovered from the possession of Mohd Shafi Ganie, while 3.728 Kgs was recovered from the possession of Shabir Ahmad Malik, making a total recovery of 9.052 Kgs.
In this connection, FIR No. 227/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sumbal, and investigation has been taken up in accordance with law.
Bandipora Police reiterates its commitment to combating the menace of drug trafficking and will continue to take strict legal action against individuals involved in the illegal trade and distribution of narcotic substances.
