JAMMU 30 AUGUST 2026:-
In a significant action against illegal possession of arms, Jammu Police today apprehended accused person during routine patrolling by the police team of Police Post Narwal.
During routine patrolling by Police Party led by IC PP Narwal at Malik Market, Narwal, opposite Shopper Stop, the police team noticed a person moving under suspicious circumstances. On being approached and subjected to checking, one pistol along with one toka (sharp-edged weapon) was recovered from his possession.
The accused was immediately taken into custody and arrested in accordance with law. The recovered weapons have been seized as per prescribed procedure.In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source of the illegal weapons and the accused’s possible involvement in other criminal activities.
The Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and public safety and stated that strict action will continue against persons involved in illegal possession, carrying, or use of arms and other criminal activities.Further investigation is underway.
