The Drugs Control Department, in collaboration with Bandipora Police, conducted a joint inspection of medical shops in the Sumbal area under the Viksit Bharat programme, aimed at strengthening regulatory measures and preventing the misuse of medicines.
The inspection drive was led by Drugs Control Department Inspector Bilal Ahmad Rather, along with Sumbal Police.
During the drive, various medical establishments were inspected to ensure compliance with prescribed rules and regulations, particularly regarding the sale and distribution of NRx drugs.
Officials sensitised medical shop owners about the importance of maintaining proper purchase and sale records of medicines. They also directed them to strictly follow all statutory guidelines while dispensing restricted drugs.
The officials warned that any violation of regulations or misuse of NRx medicines would invite strict legal action under the applicable laws. The department stated that such inspections would continue to ensure responsible dispensing of medicines and protect public health.
