MLA Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone, today inaugurated a newly constructed bridge at Aragam in Bandipora, built by the R&B Division Bandipora at an estimated cost of ₹259 lakh.
Speaking to the media, Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone said that the bridge was a long-pending demand of the local residents. He said people of the area had repeatedly raised the issue and expressed grievances regarding the need for a safe and functional bridge, which has now been resolved with its completion and dedication to the public.
The MLA said that Aragam and other adjoining areas had joined the constituency during the recent elections and assured that these areas would receive due attention in terms of development and infrastructure.
Responding to criticism over whether adequate development would take place in these newly added areas, Lone said the inauguration of the bridge itself was a clear response to such concerns and demonstrated the government’s commitment towards addressing public needs and strengthening infrastructure.
Local residents expressed gratitude to MLA Hilal Akbar Lone for facilitating the completion of the bridge and addressing their long-standing demand. They appreciated the efforts taken towards improving connectivity and easing the difficulties faced by the people of the area.
