The strike by National Health Mission (NHM) employees continued for the eighth consecutive day at Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin in Bandipora district, with doctors and paramedical staff remaining on protest in support of their long-pending demands.
Extending support to the protesting employees, AIP Constituency In-Charge Anayat Bhat said that the demands raised by NHM employees are genuine and deserve due consideration from the government.Speaking to the media, Bhat said that the government should listen to the concerns of NHM employees and take concrete steps to address their demands so that the ongoing strike can be brought to an end.
He further said that the issue would also be taken up at the parliamentary level. Bhat stated that during the forthcoming Parliament session, efforts would be made to discuss the matter with AIP chief and MP Engineer Rashid, with the aim of raising the concerns of NHM employees in Parliament.
Bhat stressed that prolonged disruption of NHM services affect healthcare delivery at various health institutions, including sub-centres, community health centres and other medical facilities, particularly in areas where patients depend heavily on these services. He appealed to the government to engage with the protesting employees and work towards a mutually acceptable resolution so that healthcare services are restored to normal and patients do not face further inconvenience.
