Senior Congress leader and former All India Congress Committee (AICC) National Coordinator Sibtain Shah held a cordial and constructive meeting with Rev. Msgr. Andrea Francia, Chargé d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature to India (Holy See / Vatican City), in New Delhi.During the meeting Sibtain Shah and Msgr.
Francia discussed the enduring friendly relations between India and the Holy See. They exchanged views on the importance of interfaith dialogue, mutual respect among communities, promotion of peace, human dignity, and continued cooperation in areas of shared interest.Sibtain Shah specially highlighted the valuable contributions of churches and missionary schools in Jammu & Kashmir.
He appreciated their longstanding role in providing quality education, healthcare, and social service across the region, and noted how these institutions have served students and communities of all backgrounds with dedication and inclusivity. He underlined that such efforts strengthen social harmony and the spirit of mutual respect in J&K.Msgr. Andrea Francia reciprocated the warm sentiments and expressed appreciation for India’s inclusive ethos.
He acknowledged the positive work of Catholic institutions, including those in Jammu & Kashmir, and emphasised the value of ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the Holy See and India in the fields of education, pastoral care, and service to society.
