National Health Mission (NHM) employees of Block Hajin on Wednesday assembled at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin and began a 72-hour strike in support of their long-pending demands.The strike was led by Dr. Shehnaz, Block President of NHM Employees, Hajin.
Doctors, paramedical staff and other NHM employees participated in the protest.The protesting employees raised several demands, including a secure job policy and regularisation of NHM employees, salary and pay revision to ensure better and equitable remuneration, retirement benefits for employees who have rendered years of service, and social security benefits for employees and their families.The employees said they have been serving under the NHM for years and urged the government to address their genuine concerns and take concrete measures to improve their service conditions and ensure job security.
The 72-hour strike is aimed at drawing the attention of the authorities towards the demands of NHM employees and seeking an early resolution of their issues.
